Luxe For Less: Peach Area Rugs
Can you tell which one is more expensive?
I don’t know why, but every time I pick out a rug for a room it’s always a shade of orange. Whether it be rust -or- peach, it’s a color that I’m drawn to. I rarely ever wear orange, but when it comes to rugs it’s my go-to… and I have no idea why.
Years ago on Apartment Therapy, I read an article that said pink is the most versatile color for a rug and it has always stuck with me. Yet, whenever I try to design a room with a pink rug I chicken out and land on orange. I briefly skimmed the googs for the psychology behind the color peach today and what I read wasn’t in my favor, so as far as a secret meaning to my obsession with orangey rugs — I’m going to ignore that for now. (Cue Irish exist out of my own blog post.)
Origin: Both from Turkey.
Size: Slight difference.
Style: Both printed/machine-made.
Materials: Both a Cotton, Chenille, and polyester mix.
Final Thoughts:
The Wayfair Hitchin Oriental Gray/Yellow Area Rug is pretty much a spot-on copy of the Crate and Barrel Hallie Peach rug. My Mom has the one from Crate & Barrel. It’s gorgeous in person and looks brighter than it does in the online photos. I’m very tempted to get the Wayfair one for my office to see how they compare!
